Every Xparalia product begins with a shell. Our tagline, 500 million years of design, is a celebration of the evolution of these beautiful lifeforms. An estimated 375 million years ago, animals that would become our own ancestors started leaving the water, and most of them stayed on dry land (shoutout to whales, whose ancestors returned to the sea about 50 million years ago!)

Humans can, and must, take better care of the world's oceans. And there are ways that we can do so directly right now: by reducing the suffering of sea animals. 

5% of every XPARALIA sale goes to the Aquatic Life Institute.

We are committed to donating this portion of revenue (every transaction, before expenses) to a charity with a proven record of protecting sea life.

Why ALI

The Aquatic Life Institute works to improve welfare standards for farmed fish and shrimp, and stop octopus farming at the scale where it matters: international certification bodies, aquaculture industry standards, and global supply chains.

For every dollar donated, ALI has helped improve conditions for an estimated 5,423 fish and 221,343 shrimp through direct engagement with certifiers. In 2024, they secured a new Global Seafood Alliance requirement ending eyestalk ablation in certified shrimp hatcheries by 2030, a single policy change affecting roughly 44 billion animals annually.

We choose ALI because the scale of impact per dollar is exceptional.

How it works

Donations are calculated quarterly from gross revenue and transferred directly to ALI.
